Extractions

A dental extraction is the complete removal of a tooth for any of the following reasons:

  • Severe decay
  • Extensive fracture
  • Severe periodontal disease
  • Some pathological states
  • Incomplete loss of a baby tooth
  • As part of a restorative treatment plan
  • As part of an orthodontic treatment plan

Some dental extractions can be done right here in our office. Other times, it may be necessary to employ the services of an oral surgeon for varying reasons. Your dentist will discuss the recommended route of treatment for you. If it is determined you need to see an oral surgeon, a prompt referral will be made to the appropriate specialist.
